Thanks to some MAGA Goth twit DJ Retweeted one of my Tweets, apparently under the delusion you can be feminist and have Reich Wing politics, slowly my memory came back about yeah, there’s always been Right Wing Goths out there. But also that being honest with myself that the tolerance for Nazi fetishism in Nightlife was tolerated long beforehand. 
 
 There’s  also the matter of how not only was it okay to bash Muslims and Islam in the now defunct message boards, as apparently the humanity of these peoples and their religion should somehow be a matter of debate, but I still can’t think of anyone who was openly Muslim or even Arab in these Internet communities. Indeed, a popular Goth Rock track I can’t remember the name of bashed Muslims characterizing them as a threat to Europe, and at least one person who worked at the Mercury had similar views.

 I might write more in detail about this eventually even though my memory isn’t the best, but the Goth Community is in denial about its alleged tolerance for differences.

it was an on and off thing in which I’d take a break for months, sometimes years.

There was a time back in Seattle when it was slightly less gentrified and the Goth and Industrial Communities had clubs that engaged in competition with each other, maybe that’s the only reason The Mercury staff and whoever was running it at the time bothered to do anything about creepers and sex pests.

They don’t anymore. It’s not the only reason I’m done with that place, but I will keep those reasons private.

But it’s painful to think about how little they care anymore, and to watch threads on their FaceBook Group argue over the very real sex pest problems, full of neckbeards and selfishly  indifferent club managers about these fucking safety hazards.
